The BBQ competition
is KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) professionally sanctioned
and judged event.
A maximum of 54 teams will
compete for $20,000 in cash and prizes. Winners advance to national competition.
The International Metal Arts program of Sloss Furnaces will be creating
unique art as trophies and awards for winners!
Amateur Competition
Backyard Grillers is an amateur cook-off. Strictly
for fun and all the hog hollerin’ rights that go with it! The Mayor's
Cup will be awarded to Grand Champion of the Amateur competition.
For individuals or teams (amateur event open to non-professional
teams, families, corporate teams or individuals). No cash prizes;
Mayor’s Cup, trophies and nominal prize packages for winners.
Entry Fee: $100 per team.
